Hi, I'm Melly!

My jewelry journey began in 2006 when I opened my very first shop, Melly's Handmade Jewelry, on Corey Ave. in sunny St. Pete Beach, Florida.

As i had moved to the US just four years earlier, I was absolutely captivated by my new surroundings. The sandy beaches, the hidden back alleys, the towering palm trees, the vibrant locals, and the little shell shops completely won my heart. That coastal magic fueled my lifelong passion for crafting beautiful things out of just about anything I could get my hands on.

I started making jewelry for two simple reasons: a deep love for the craft, and the need to accessorize my new beach wardrobe! Living by the water was more than just fun—it was an entire lifestyle, and I fell head over heels for it.

To this day, my creative sweet spot hits early. Getting up at 3 or 4 a.m. is my absolute prime time to squeeze every last drop of imagination out of my brain.

When I sit down to design a new necklace, bracelet, or pair of earrings, my mind goes straight to Florida. I picture my neighbor's massive bougainvillea creeping over my fence. A vibrant pop of pink that made strawberry quartz one of my absolute favorite gemstones to work with. I hear the ocean screaming TURQUOISE, and I let the warmth of the beach inspire me with endless palettes of beautiful earth tones.
